Liposuction For Men

By

Hard as it may seem for some people to image, especially those unaccustomed to the vanity of humanity, there is such a thing as liposuction for men. Plastic surgery for the purpose of cosmetic enhancement has long been associated with women and their endless desire to appear more physically attractive than the rest of their female counterparts. But in the modern world liposuction for men is becoming increasingly common. And while the procedure remains the same, there are some slight differences between liposuction for the two genders in a very general view of things. The differences are in the areas of the body most commonly requested for treatment and the slightly higher cost of liposuction for men than women as a whole.

There are a few reasons why liposuction for men tends to be a more expensive than for women. This is a very broad take on the entire industry as a whole but it explains the type of work that men request and the nature of the male body in comparison to female bodies. Firstly, men are typically larger than women meaning the size of the area to be treated is larger. The liposuction price is largely determined by the size and the area of the body to be treated. This is due to the direct correlation between size and time and effort it takes to sculpt the area as well as the amount of anesthesia required.

The second reason is because the fat cells of men tend to be more fibrous making it more difficult to break apart and extract from the body. This means more time and effort is required of the surgeon to complete the same procedure that would be easier with a female body. Couple this with the fact that most treatments are for areas that are already more fibrous than the rest of the body. This includes areas like the chest, the abdomen, and the love handles around the waist.

Similarly, it is hard to predict where a woman would want her procedure purely on statistics and without any knowledge of the individual. There are procedures to treat the arms, the inner and out thighs and all other parts of the body that men can don't typically request because it isn't too difficult for a man to sculpt those areas of the body. That is the main driver for the type of request by male patients. Areas like the love handles and abdomen are particularly hard to reach with exercise and dieting.

Another common request from men is facial liposuction. Areas like the chin, neck, and jowls are the most popular of facial liposuction treatments. The procedure can remove or reduce a double chin, eliminate rolls in the neck and help tighten skin around the face. This results in the patient looking more youthful a chiseled in the face. Since the procedure requires small incisions the healing process is quick, the surgery itself is nearly painless and the risk of complications is greatly reduced.

One more common treatment for men is to reduce breast size. The condition known as gynecomastia causes an abnormal enlargement of the male breast and is often caused by a hormonal imbalance. The breast can be enlarged because of an accumulation of fat cells in the area or overgrowth of glandular tissue. In the case of fat accumulation, liposuction is a very good option to treat the condition. Otherwise alternative medication and treatment will be required to reduce the breast. The best way to determine the resolution of such a condition is by going in to see a medical professional and performing test. A liposuction surgeon may be able to diagnose the patient or refer him to the appropriate doctor.

Consultation is required before any plastic surgery procedure and this is a great time to determine whether the patient is eligible for liposuction surgery as well as a chance to ensure the surgeon is properly trained and certified to perform the procedure. Any surgery is a serious matter and should proceed with great care and consideration. Ask to see the surgeon's certifications as well as before and after pictures of previous clients to get an idea of what to expect from the surgery. Properly certified surgeons are required to go through rigorous training and should be proud to show off their certifications. An adequate amount of experience is also very important since the procedure is very much art as it is a science and the final results really lays in the skills of the surgeons hands.

Liposuction surgery is no longer confined to being a procedure just for women. It is becoming increasingly common for men who want to look younger, more chiseled, or simply to have a better sculpted physique. Since they are usually minor procedures, there risks are very low and the results can mean a world of difference to the patient. Liposuction for men is something that is more common than most people would care to expect, but for some men it is comforting to know they aren't alone in contemplating the treatment.
